All our specifically designed amalgam waste containers are UN approved and made from rigid plastic and fitted with a mercury suppressant to prevent the release of hazardous mercury vapours. Once collected our amalgam waste containers are taken to our specialist dental waste recycling centre for recycling and repurposing.
Dental collector cups, also known as chairside traps, capture amalgam waste from dental procedures, preventing mercury from being released into the environment. These are designed as single-use items so once used should be disposed of in line with regulations and not washed out with water and reused within practice.
Dental collector cups are often stored, and disposed of in a sludge drum. Our new dedicated PureGuard™ Dental collector cup container. As part of the service, we collect and recycle the dental collector cups at our dental waste recycling center. After the amalgam is removed, a fully cleaned and disinfection these collector cups can be reused.
