Following years of campaigning for Government help in tackling Period Poverty, activists were rewarded with the announcement in The Chancellor of The Exchequer Philip Hammond\u2019s Spring Statement that schools <\/a>would receive \u00a32 million in funding from the start of the 2019\/2020 school year. Since then there has been a flurry of activity as everyone looks to put solutions in place. As one of the leading washroom vending providers<\/a><\/strong> in the country, Initial have been ready to offer our solution to Period Poverty since last summer. Between the launch of our Period Poverty Vending Machine in August and the Chancellor\u2019s announcement, we have been solidifying our charitable links in the sector as well as assisting our customers fight against Period Poverty, making us the ideal partner to help you do the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After carefully considering the user experience and the wider social stigma of Period Poverty, we have developed discrete in-cubicle dispensers<\/a><\/strong> and have announced a charitable link with Freedom4Girls (with \u00a35 being donated for each Period Poverty dispenser installed as well as \u00a31 per case of consumables). These new units have received great interest from our customers, with over 650 installed since launch and the range of customers taking a proactive approach to Period Poverty has included schools and offices, health boards and football clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But don\u2019t just take our word for it. Following an enquiry in October 2018, we surveyed 12 sites in the Blaenau Gwent area for the Anuerin Bevan Health Board. After consulting with the customer and working with them to find out their specific requirements, we made our recommendations for the best way to tackle Period Poverty across the borough. The customer accepted these proposals and we have since completed a seamless installation across their premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feedback has been incredibly positive: “Initial have been very helpful in helping us to tackle Period Poverty in the Blaenau Gwent area. Their cubicle dispensers provide a discrete and dignified way of dispensing free menstrual products across our estate<\/em>” said Ian Haywood, Network & Community Services Manager for the Blaenau Gwent area of the Health Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as providing the full range of products, we also attended their launch event on International Women\u2019s Day earlier this year to help raise awareness of the issue.  Making us the ideal partner to help you tackle this contemporary issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
