Initial Medical Service Achieves ISO 14001:2004 Certification

Initial Medical Services is proud to announce that we have achieved our ISO 14001:2004 - Environmental Management System Certification for the handling, collection, carriage and disposal of clinical, hazardous, medical, dental and special waste.
We take our environmental obligations very seriously. At our last audit by SGS the auditor reported that our “Brentford site was very managed, all documentation was readily available and the site clean and tidy” and no non-conformities were reported.
We are extremely pleased with how our branches throughout the United Kingdom have addressed the impacts that they may have on the Environment. We are focused to further improve our own operations and also understand how we can help our customers in their own commitments in environmental suitability.
Furthermore, for the coming year we have set ourselves 5 Environmental Steps:
- Reduce fuel usage by at least 5%
- Replace our entire fleet with new more fuel efficient models
- Reduce vehicle wear and tear by implementation of a fleet management training programme for all key staff
- Reduce stationery usage and costs using electronic methods to communicate throughout our business
- Promote the benefits of switching to electronic billing for customer accounts
