Tasty Menus Boost Anglesey School Dinners

The number of pupils choosing school meals has risen by six per cent over the past two years across Anglesey’s 52 primary schools, equating to an extra 270 meals everyday. The Isle of Anglesey County Council has worked closely with catering partner Eden Foodservice since September 2008 to develop tasty menus that not only appeal to pupils, but also use highest quality ingredients to meet nutrient based standards including locally-sourced produce wherever possible.

Initial Catering Services Achieves Red Tractor Status

Initial Catering Services has secured Red Tractor status reflecting that £1.5 million of meat used within its business each year is sourced from Assured British farms that meet guaranteed standards in terms of animal welfare, environmental protection, safety and hygiene. The accreditation was presented to Initial Catering Services at a plaque ceremony at the House of Lords, organised by Assured Food Standards and hosted by Lord Taylor of Holbeach CBE. The event was attended by employees, customers, suppliers and representatives from the NFU.

Meggitt Appoints Initial Integrated Services

Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems has awarded a major contract to Initial Integrated Services for the provision of a facilities management service at its UK manufacturing & test sites in Coventry & Birmingham. Under the five-year deal, Initial will provide an integrated solution that consolidates all hard and soft facilities management requirements to reduce costs and enhance service levels.

Manchester Airport Wins Loo of the Year Award

The toilets at Manchester Airport have received a five-star rating at this year’s Loo of the Year Awards. The public lavatories, cleaned by Initial Air Services, scooped the award for best airport toilets at the annual ceremony that was held at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Birmingham.
