Autograph Foodservice, part of Initial Catering Services, will serve up over 1.5 million meals this year to employees at Tesco Distribution centres, following a significant contract extension worth in excess of £21 million.
Autograph Foodservice has almost doubled the number of sites it is responsible for to a total of thirteen, including two in Northern Ireland. All the sites operate 24/7 and Autograph Foodservice will provide breakfast, lunch, a mid shift and night meals 364 days of the year. The contract also involves a full vending service and weekly management reports on each site offering a real-time web-based information through Autograph Foodservice’s unique Mercury system.
Autograph Foodservice started work with Tesco Distribution Centres in January 2007 and was initially awarded seven sites following an e-auction. This latest contract extension has been awarded following Tesco Distribution Centres’ decision to go from three suppliers to two in the UK.
Jenny Shurmer, Operations Director at Autograph Foodservice said: “We were awarded this additional work as a direct consequence of the excellent results we have achieved at the first seven sites. The extension is recognition of the hard work the team has put in this year and we are looking forward to working closely with Tesco over the coming months.”
