Lancaster Receive Cleaning Industry ‘Oscar’ for Training Academy at Golden Service Awards

Full marks for Lancaster Office Cleaning Company as they were awarded the Kimberly-Clark Professional and CSSA Golden Service Award for best ‘Industry Training’.

‘Know your band and understand’ is the motto at Lancaster where a unique wrist band system developed by Anne Bradley, is helping to reduce cross contamination. Having only been running for 18 months this self funded academy in Bow, East London, has trained over 2000 operatives equipping them with the skill base that enables them to carry out their roles on site to the highest standard.

The Training Academy offers employees the opportunity to work towards industry standard BICs qualifications for all levels of staff as well as over 20 practical and theory courses, focusing on improving numeracy and literacy amongst cleaning operatives.

Commenting after the ceremony Anne Bradley, Training and Development Manager, Lancaster said: “We are delighted to have been awarded with an ‘Oscar’, especially as this is the first year that we’ve entered. We’ve worked so hard in setting up the Lancaster Training Academy and this just proves it has all been worth it, what a brilliant achievement!”

Lawrence Bull, Head of Training, Lancaster added: “We are extremely proud of our Training Academy. It’s a clear indicator to all of our customers that we intend on continually maintaining and improving our high standards.”

“These awards are a fantastic way of recognising the contributions made to our industry, not only by the supervisors and managers but also the operatives.”

The prestigious Kimberley Clark Golden Service Awards are internationally acknowledged as the hallmark of quality amongst the cleaning and support services industry. This year’s ceremony was held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, and was hosted by TV personality and ‘Perfect Housewife’, Anthea Turner. It was attended by over 600 finalists and their guests.
