Initial Facilities Services, the UK’s leading commercial cleaning and facilities company, today announces that it has been awarded three of the highest quality assurance, environment and healthy and safety accreditations in the UK. At the same time, the company has become one of the first companies in the UK to sign up to the Government’s Skills Pledge.

Already an industry leader when it comes to colleague development, Initial is committed to supporting all employees to gain skills and qualifications, in particular in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
The company’s support for the Skills Pledge was announced on 14 June at an event with the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, Skills Envoy, Sir Digby Jones, and Secretary of State for Education and Skills, Rt Hon Alan Johnson. Commenting on the accreditation awards, Peter Turner, Head of Risk Management said: “Eighteen months of hard work has gone into achieving these awards and I am absolutely delighted that we passed on all three counts. Employing over 30,000 staff in the UK, Initial Facilities Services is committed to ensuring that we are at the forefront of the industry in terms of Health and Safety, Environment and Quality.”
