Initial in the UK
We are a part of the Rentokil Initial group. We are a leading provider of expert facilities management, medical and hygiene services to businesses and organisations of all kind, enabling them to focus on what they do best.
Initial Washroom Solutions (IWS) today announced plans to modernise its network infrastructure and improve operational efficiency by opening three new state-of-the-art processing plants in Glasgow, Birmingham and Reading. The plants, which will take over from the current processing facilities in Bradford and Chorley, are expected to be operational by the beginning of 2008.
The new plants, which will serve the dual role of Service Centres and processing plants, are the latest phase of an 18-month long, company-wide, business change programme that has seen every aspect of the business restructured and modernised to deliver superior levels of customer service to over 70,000 companies across the UK.
As well as boasting state-of-the-art processing equipment, the new Supercentres are purpose built and designed and will contain some of the latest environmentally friendly and energy efficient machinery, making them some of the most modern plants of their kind in the UK.
As part of this programme, IWS has also taken the strategic decision to sell its Initial Wipers business to United Wipes Ltd, a company with considerable knowledge and expertise in the supply and processing of cleaning cloths to industry. This decision will enable Washrooms to focus its resources entirely on its core activity of supplying washrooms solutions to over 70,000 businesses across the UK.
Stephen Booth, Managing Director of Initial Washroom Solutions said, ‘the opening of the new plants and the sale of the Wipers business is a very vital and necessary part of our business restructuring programme. We work in an industry in which service excellence, quality and value are all key drivers to success. By opening these Supercentres and focusing our resources we can, at a stroke, significantly reduce our long-distance transportation costs, provide a much faster turnaround of materials, be more effective and efficient in the way we deliver our service and boost the quality of our customer care.
