Castlegate House scores top marks in National Awards

Castlegate House in Dudley, home to Rentokil Initial UK Cleaning & Facility Services head office, has been awarded 5 Stars at this year’s Building Cleanabiltiy Awards – The national awards that recognise buildings for helping effective cleaning.

The 2006 Building Cleanability Awards exist to promote an increased awareness of the cleaning needs and cleanability issues relevant to all commercial and public buildings at all stages of design, construction and operational management.

A total of 89 buildings were nominated for this bi-annual awards scheme from all parts of the UK. Each building was assessed against a wide range of relevant criteria and awarded a 3, 4 or 5 star-grading certificate.

Rentokil Initial UK Cleaning and Facility Services’ head office has been located in Dudley for some 24 years, they moved to the new offices in Castlegate House in 2003.

Commenting after the ceremony Peter Lloyd, Divisional Managing Director said: “I am delighted that our head office has been recognised in these awards as I’m a strong believer in providing optimum working conditions for both staff and visitors.

“We are very proud of our building and use it as a showcase site for prospective customers. This award confirms that we continue to lead the way in cleaning best practices”.

Rentokil Initial also picked up two national awards won by Initial Retail Cleaning in the retail sector, and seven additional star-grading certificates for some of its other sites.

The awards were presented by The Master of The Livery Company, Stephen Wright at a luncheon presentation ceremony at The Brewery, London, attended by over 400 guests.
