Rentokil Initial Acquires Insitu Cleaning

Rentokil Initial UK Facilities Services today announces that it has acquired the privately owned Insitu Cleaning Company.

Insitu started in 1975 as a carpet cleaning company and has since developed into a national contract cleaning business with clients spread evenly across England and Wales. Over the last few years the company has increasingly focused on large-scale shopping centres and the leisure sector – both are key target markets for Rentokil Initial.

Chris Reay, Managing Director and his management team will continue in the business to ensure a smooth transition and drive the business forward.

Commenting on the acquisition, Peter Lloyd, Managing Director of Rentokil Initial Facilities Services, said: “I am delighted to welcome the Insitu team into our business. The acquisition is in line with our strategy to further strengthen our position in the retail market and to develop other areas that are recognised as growth sectors. I am looking forward to what I’m sure will be an exciting and successful venture.”

Insitu Cleaning Company is based in Newcastle and employs some 1,700 employees.
